Welcome to finep

finep is a nonprofit project and consulting organization working in the area of sustainable development with a focus on the thematic fields of development policy, environmental policy and the promotion of local democracy. In collaboration with partner organisations in Europe and worldwide, finep develops and implements projects in the aforementioned fields.

In addition to its own project work, finep provides assistance and advice to local authorities and other nonprofit organisations in the areas of the acquisition of third-party funding, process consultation, facilitation, the provision of trainings as well as the elaboration of studies and educational concepts.

We strive for sustainability in our own actions.

Planning Workshop for EU Project on Human Rights

(12.03.2015) On 05 and 06 March, a planning workshop for an EU project on Human Rights was organized in Copenhagen with the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) and facilitated by Ralph Griese and Stefanie Kolodziej (finep). In collaboration with staff from DIHR, relevant questions on project and budget design of the planned project were discussed, specific project activities with a corresponding logframe refined and the governance and partner structure assessed. Furthermore, administrative and financial questions on the application process and project management related to the specific conditions set by the European Commission were clarified with the support of finep.

Opening at the Museo Mundial project: First museum installation on the Global Textile Industry

(9 May 2014) As part of the EU-funded project Museo Mundial finep works on 10 innovation tools for museums on global-political issues in cooperation with the Naturhistorische Gesellschaft Nürnberg (NHG). Since some days the first object can be seen at the Museum of Natural History in Nuremberg: The interactive wardrobe invites the visitors to get a more in-depth view of the topic of the global textile production and addresses different senses of the visitors. The wardrobe is installed at the West Africa Exhibition next to a Ghanaian weaving loom and a Kente cloth.

New publication: Global What?

The survey Global What? A study on facts and needs of Global Learning in Germany, Portugal and Romania has been published. The survey examines and compares the conditions of Global Learning in three European countries. It forms
the first material produced within the EU-project Facilitating Global Learning, that finep carries out in cooperation with partners in Germany, Portugal and Romania. The survey includes the evaluation of a questionnaire which was answered by a variety of Development Education organisations as well as information on the context of Global Learning in these countries and in Europe. The main objective of the questionnaire was to elicit the requirements towards further training. Please download the pdf-version of Global What?...
